Israel Can Teach the US About SecurityYes indeed, as I keep repeating... Israel screens for suspicious people; the US screens for suspicious objects. Suspicious people are much easier to find. The Toronto Star gets it. Is anyone in the Department of Homeland Stupidity listening? Want to fly? Give up your rights. The Transportation Stupidity Association is rolling out "whole body scanners" that they intend to force upon us. The scanners can create a three-dimensional image of you -- naked -- so that security personnel will be able to check your crotch for explosives. Privacy be damned. Perhaps someday we'll be as smart as the Israelis -- they look for suspicious people; here in America, we look for suspicious objects. In Israel, you can fly with a water bottle, keep your shoes on, and even wear underwear. So what's the difference between Israeli security and US security that the Israelis can figure this out but the Americans can't? Gun Rabbi vs. Gun NutWell, I met my first "gun nut." Here's his e-mail with which he contacted me: On Thu, Dec 24, 2009 at 9:03 PM, Gun Nut wrote: Guns are Probably my biggest pet peeve. I earnestly believe that anyone caught with one should be immediately imprisoned for 25 years. When they let him out, ask him why he had it. We really do not need any more Fort Hoods or Columbines. I will go so far as to ban cops from carrying them. While I was growing up the dumbest kids and the biggest bullies all became cops. There is a very thin line between cops and criminals. They shoot to kill, whether or not the person is guilty or not. Human life is too sacred to just wantonly kill someone. InterPol and Constitutional RightsWith a stroke of the pen, Obama has just signed away all of your rights as a US citizen. On December 16, 2009, President Obama signed an Executive Order granting InterPol -- the International Police and the world's largest police organization (!) -- full diplomatic immunity, the same immunity granted to foreign dignitaries. What does this mean to you? |
